About Me

A Teacher Does What A Teacher Has To Do
Hello! This is my 16th year of teaching but I am rather new to the 3rd grade classroom.  I began teaching kindergarten in 1991 and then went on to serve as professor and Dean of the School of Education at Lambuth University.

For a brief moment, I worked at Freed-Hardeman University as the Director of Admission and Dean of Student Life.  Then the world of teaching called me home and I began as the Gifted/Resource Teacher at East Elementary.  Since the, I have moved to 3rd grade.

This is my 3rd year in 3rd grade.  I work with 5 incredible teachers.  We have partners and then content teams.  I teach Math as my primary content area but also teach the Enrichment group in RTI and work as part of the Social Studies team.  I am also the math instructional coach for our school, East Chester.  I love my job, my team and my school.

My Family!
I am married to a farmer named Tim and just had our 23rd anniversary.  My 14 year old son loves to play football, hunt, fish, and trap.  He begins high school this year and will be taking Honors courses.  It will be an adventure.

Lastly, I am honored to be an adjunct professor at FHU.  I teach in the graduate program and you will see guest bloggers from my class on this blog!  Another wonderful blessing in my life is the Bible class I teach on Wednesday night to a bunch of incredible college age girls!

Thank you for checking out my blog!  Find me on Twitter @belanderson12.  Best wishes with all that you do this year!
